September 2015

Commissioning and normal operation was established.

1 June 2014

The 40th turbine is installed - Trianel wind farm Borkum's first stage is completed.

March 2014

At the end of winter, 25 turbines are installed and 75 percent of cabling are completed.

27 July 2013

First turbine is fully installed.

Installation vessel MPI Adventure starts with the installation of the 40 AREVA M5000 turbines.

April 2013

The converter platform is fully installed and ready for operation.

Ramming works done. All 120 piles for the tripods are installed.

Start of construction. First ramming action at sea.

June 2011

Preparations are made for the protection of sea mammals during the construction phase. A nozzle hose about 400 metres long and filled with compressed air is placed underwater around the pile at a distance of 60 to 70 metres. The nozzles are of different sizes, so that the bubbles vary in size. The rising bubbles form the sound protection wall. In collaboration with Hydrotechnik Lübeck GmbH, BioConsult GmbH & Co. KG in Husum and ITAB GmbH in Oldenburg, this sound protection technology will be tried and tested on a large scale during the construction of the Trianel Windpark Borkum.

Spring 2011

Preparations and design are on course for a building start in August 2011.

Trianel offshore project receives over EUR 40 million in EU subsidy funding.

Trianel enters a pre-contract arrangement to secure 40 No. M5000 AREVA Multibrid turbines.

Trianel GmbH has commissioned the private weather consultant EWC Weather Consult GmbH with the supply of intraday wind power prognoses.

13 May 2009

Trianel secures all rights to the Borkum West II offshore site. At the same time, the permission issued the previous summer by the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) to Prokon Nord Energiesysteme GmbH is acquired by Trianel.

January 2008

The Borkum West wind farm project gets an enthusiastic response from the partners; a project company is formed.
